IvyTech, a key player in the circular economy for over 30 years, faced a multifaceted challenge at its facility in Hungary. Its older infrastructure was exceptionally energy-intensive, and its outdated lighting system no longer met the necessary industry standards for manufacturing and inspection.

The project was an international undertaking that required navigating Hungarian regulations and potential language barriers. IvyTech needed a partner who could provide a complete, end-to-end service and manage the logistical complexities of a cross-border initiative. They sought a flexible and responsive team capable of delivering a turnkey solution.

A Strategic, Switchless, and Turnkey Implementation

LumenStream's solution was comprehensive and tailored to IvyTech’s specific needs. The project involved the successful installation of over 2,356 new luminaires. A core element of our strategy was to address IvyTech’s desire to become a switchless business by installing a sensor-controlled system throughout the entire facility. This eliminated the need for manual switches, optimising energy usage by dimming or turning off lights in areas without human traffic.

LumenStream provided a complete turnkey solution, handling every aspect of the process from assessment and design to installation and resolution of any challenges.

This streamlined approach ensured minimal disruption to IvyTech’s operations and demonstrated our ability to manage a large-scale project in a complex environment.

Measurable Results and a Model for the Future

The collaboration resulted in a significant and measurable transformation at the IvyTech facility. By replacing their outdated system with a modern, sensor-controlled LED setup, we achieved a 56% increase in energy efficiency, leading to substantial energy savings of 289 MWh annually. These savings are a direct consequence of the new technology and the strategic deployment of smart controls.

Beyond the figures, the project markedly improved working conditions for IvyTech’s employees by providing high-quality lighting that meets modern standards.
