Navigating Fixed Wiring Infrastructure and High Costs
In today’s competitive and environmentally-conscious landscape, businesses are increasingly seeking solutions that not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute to their sustainability goals. For companies like HPH Group, a family-run business specialising in haulage and warehousing solutions, a significant opportunity lay in upgrading their existing lighting infrastructure. However, this was not a simple retrofit. The project at HPH Group required a comprehensive approach to address underlying infrastructure issues that would modernise their facility to meet UK standards.
Before partnering with LumenStream, the HPH Group’s facility faced two primary challenges. First, the existing lighting system was inadequate, with low lux levels and poor-quality sodium lighting that created a dim, orange environment. This not only made for difficult working conditions but also fell short of UK standards for a logistics warehouse.
"We were looking for an upgrade to our existing lighting and LumenStream came on board and offered us a cost-effective way of doing that with financial savings."
Second, the fixed wiring infrastructure was in a state of disrepair due to a history of poor work by previous contractors. This meant that a simple replacement of the light fittings would not suffice. The project required extensive rectification work to the wiring infrastructure before the new lighting could even be installed. This dual challenge of outdated infrastructure and substandard lighting presented a significant hurdle that required an experienced and knowledgeable partner to handle the job's complexity from start to finish. HPH Group sought a partner who would provide a comprehensive and cost-effective solution, with financial and carbon footprint savings being a key priority for the company and its customers.
