The Need for a Modern Solution
Cooper & Turner, a global manufacturer and distributor of safety-critical fasteners in Glasgow, was facing a common challenge: an outdated and inefficient lighting system. The pre-existing lighting infrastructure at Cooper & Turner’s Glasgow site presented several issues. The combination of old high-bay sodium lights, fluorescent tubes and halogen units resulted in poor lux levels and uniformity, impacting the working conditions for both employees and customers.
Furthermore, the legacy lighting was costly to maintain, posing a financial burden. For a company dedicated to sustainability, this was an opportunity to embrace new technology and make a tangible reduction in its environmental impact.
"Throughout the years, we’ve had the high-bay sodium lighting in place. Add to that, we’ve had the fluorescent tubes and the halogen units all over the place. They were starting to become very expensive to maintain."
